NME Mixtape

Hello
It's late, very late but I can't get to sleep so just saw this. It is the NME Radar Mixtape pretty much showcasing all the new upcoming talent for 2010. It is good, very good.

Enjoy.

I will probably do a write up on some of my favourite bands from the mixtape but later on.
Classic NME cover from 1995. Old school.

The Hudson Branch, Of Moths And Stars & Major Lazer

Hello
Well I am still sick but I have nothing better to do so I am going to keep posting. So there is a band I discovered called The Hudson Branch. There from Illinois and are one of the few good american bands I have heard. They play ambient indie rock, it's good. Really good. Debut album Tightrope Walker is available but I recommend you start by downloading there free E.P.

Portrait Painters & Poubelle International

Hello
Today is also going to be short but sweet, first up Portrait Painters a swedish solo artist called Alexander Gustafsson. It's quite heartfelt stuff and something you can really get into. There isn't much stuff on his myspace but a lot spread across the internet, as always. I recommend you check out his song Forgive/Forget for a taste.

Second band today you get another dose of hand clapping indie rock from Hong Kong; Poubelle International. There the kind of band who play music buy night and are bankers by day, again I don't think they are that special musically wise but it gets me in a good mood, hope you like it.

Enjoy.
Frankly Mr. Shankly.

The Northwestern, The LoveSong & Gigs

Hello

Second band today are called The Lovesong they say they write "Post-Hardcore/Emo" but I call it blog filler. They're from Hong Kong and are alright, it's just sort of as good as it gets here. Well not as good but there are a lot worse, hope you like it more than I do.

Enjoy.

Oh Green Day came to Hong Kong just wanted to say what an awful band they are, pathetic excuse for punk. Going to see The Killers on the 29th looking forward to it but not enough cash for Muse, shame innit?
No running in the corridors.

It Kicks Like A Sleep Twitch!

Hello
I was just listening to some songs and was wondering what my favourite lyrics were and here is what I could come up with from the top of my head.

1. Obviously a legendary line from Papillon - Editors; "It kicks like a sleep twitch."
There has been a lot of internet debate about this and I still don't think anyone has come to a conclusion, anyway it sounds good.

2. For my second choice I picked a line from the song Forever On The Edge - 4 or 5 Magicians; "Because we're the best band that exist, Let's get some A&Rses kissed." Now if you don't get that pun shame on you. I recommend you go listen to that song it's very witty and entertaining.

3. For my final lyric that I could think of I chose one from A New England - Billy Bragg; "I saw two shooting stars last night, I wished on them but they were only satellites." This one is great because I because I think it represents a lot about the modern world. I don't want to sound too hippy but it shows how we are all still clinging on to fairy tales and dreams etc. When really technology has kinda taken that away or taken over.

I was going to put a Morrissey lyric but there where just too many to pick.

Enjoy.

Please post your favourite lyrics in the comments below.

Friend found this, what you think?

Noughts And Exes, Rustie & The Maccabees

Hello
Today I have another Hong Kong band for you; Noughts And Exes. They play a large part in the Hong Kong music scene and they play indie/twee. There debut album Act One Scene One is available on iTunes and if you like them that much you can check out the lead singers other band Whence He Came.

Also there is a guy called Rustie I think he makes "Aquadub" and his remix of The Big Pink - Dominos is very different to the original but works well anyway. If you like him also check out 18 year old super producer Joker.
